I recently visited Banner Urgent Care for my two boys’ sports physicals, and the experience was mixed. The cost for each physical has doubled from $20 to $40, which was unexpected. Initially, we attempted to go the day before New Year’s Eve, but even with an appointment, the wait time was over two hours due to high demand. Thankfully, the receptionist was kind and rescheduled us for January 1st. We needed the physicals for my 13-year-old, who is participating in Special Olympics soccer, and my 11-year-old, who is playing volleyball. Since their primary care provider wasn’t available, this seemed like the best option.

While the process was mostly standard, a few issues stood out. The practitioner asked some unusual questions about why my boys were participating in Special Olympics, which felt unnecessary. Additionally, during my 11-year-old’s physical, they wouldn’t sign off because he failed the vision test, despite my explanation about his broken glasses and pending replacement. Even after offering documentation from his ophthalmologist, the practitioner initially refused but later changed their decision after further discussion. In the end, they signed the form without requiring an additional payment, but the experience could have been smoother. If you’re planning to go, be prepared for the $40 cost, bring any relevant medical documentation, and expect a thorough (but occasionally frustrating) process.

I love coming here because the medical staff is always friendly and takes care of my family and I. However, the front desk girls are always rude, lie about still accepting walk ins and wait times, and won't let you speak to whoever is in charge they all claim they are the manager. ? I wish they'd get new front desk people. Also, don't bother doing a virtual appointment over the phone you will never receive a link.

Since moving to Avondale from downtown Phoenix, I have not had the opportunity to find a new primary doctor for my child closer to our home. I’ve visited this Banner Urgent Care three times and have been consistently impressed with the nurses and providers, who always listen attentively and meet my requests, which is a welcome change from experiences where doctors finish your thoughts for you, and I appreciate the excellent care they provide

I'm sure the person working behind the desk this morning while my daughter had an actual emergency and needed to be seen should be fired. I went in today (1/22/25) before 9am. I tried to sign my daughter who is a minor and explained to the lady that my daughter is already a patient through banner health. She had NO clue what she was doing and had to go ask someone but never did. The lady did not even sign my daughters name into the system to be seen, and went on signing in other people. I say this only because while sitting down for a few minutes i saw every one else's names the front desk lady had checked in. I lost my cool and left. what a Joke. Please train your people correctly for Tricare. This is ridiculous!

I love this urgent care! Many times my primary care provider can't find the time to see me so I go here a lot. I am pleased with the care I receive here. They see me in a timely manner with minimal wait time and the providers are excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get care fast!

My daughter fell off her bike and hurt her leg bad. I brought my daughter to this Urgent care and the lady at the counter refused us. She stated the doctor isn’t taking any more patients tonight. We were there at 6:42pm. I’m not sure why the doctor wouldn’t take anymore patients when they close at 8pm. I will never recommend them.

Went for a broken hand, staff was very courteous, however, the x-ray tech was beyond rude. I have a broken hand and the cold air makes it hurt... sensitive, I told I would take my wrap off in the x-ray room and she walked away, slamming a blood pressure monitor into the wall... doesn't end there, she purposely and FORCIBLY turned hand into a position and pressed DOWN on the break. Didn't apologize and when I called her out, she responded with, "Do you want your x-rays done?!" It's Sunday, so no, I didn't have a choice! Not returning... what sucks is it's literally right down the road.

Estoy dando 4 estrellas por que fueron buenos y atendieron bien. Pero es demasiado el tiempo que espere. Es la segunda vez que voy a este lugar y no creo volver solo por tanta espera. Si atendieran más rápido estaría exelente.
