Extremely disappointed in a situation I witnessed in the waiting room on February 11th. An elderly gentleman, in his 70’s, approached the counter and told the 3 women behind the counter that he had been waiting over an hour. The woman replied “well we asked if anyone had not been helped and you didn’t say anything.” What stood out to me is that the waiting room had only 3 people in it and was not busy. The man explained that he was hard of hearing and didn’t hear them make that announcement. He asked to speak with a supervisor but was told “she was busy across the street, presumably at the other clinic. Extremely dismissive of what the man had to say.

The aforementioned precipitated my own poor experience. I was referred to Orange County diagnostics by another local imaging facility whose MRI machine broke. After explaining how my health insurance worked I was asked questions that I already answered. Immediately following that I was told “well there is no order in for you”. After explaining for the 3rd time that I believe the order can be referenced by my social, they found it. After reviewing the request from the specialist they requested amplifying data (although my doctors office and case manager confirmed the appointment could not have been made without that information)They said “call your doctor and ask them to fax this over”... as I was asking questions the women did not get up or turn around to face me as I was speaking to her. Ultimately, I spent 50 mins on the phone at the office attempting to get the information they already had and did not have the MRI performed. A day off of work was lost and no MRI was performed.

I don’t often default to assuming people are lazy or negligent but I think both are appropriate in this situation. The office was not busy, and had one of the 3 individuals behind the desk looked for a minute or two longer I believe the information they sought would’ve been found.

As for the situation with the old man. That was just disappointing. I hope that no one speaks to or treats anyone in my family that way.

Having the option to choose an imaging facility I would try my luck somewhere else.
