My Aunt saw Dr. Khan for years and when she passed away suddenly he provided no information about her death to her family. In fact he hung up on us twice when we were asking simple questions about how to obtain death information. DO NOT GO TO HIM IF YOU WANT DECENT CARE.

I selected Dr. Zafar-Khan as my primary care doctor from my health insurance website after switching to a new insurance company. The selection process online went without issue.

A little over a month later, I scheduled an appoint to see the doctor and went in on the appointment day. The woman at the front greeted me and asked for my insurance card and ID as expected. I handed everything over to her and then watched as she stared at my insurance card for a long moment. She asked me if I was referred to Dr. Zafar-Khan. I told her no, and that I had selected him as my primary care doctor from my insurance website. She did not believe me and said the doctor's name was not on my insurance card (there was just the name of my coverage network on it). I told her that previous cards that were mailed to me had his name on it but this was the most recent card.

The woman then told me they wouldn't see me today because of the fact I couldn't prove he was my doctor. I asked her if she could just call/contact the insurance company and confirm.
She then tells me she won't do that. They don't call insurance companies. Okay, fine. I'll call the insurance myself and ask the representative to confirm that Dr. Zafar-Khan is my primary doctor. I eventually get an insurance rep on the line and the rep kindly confirms that Dr. Zafar-Khan is my assigned primary care doctor. The woman at the front desk refuses to talk directly to the insurance rep even though I have the representative on the phone RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER. What the hell!? She says to tell the rep to fax over proof of coverage. I relay the message and the rep says it would take hours. Doesn't help me much since I'm already at the doctor's office and can't wait that long.

So, I didn't even get to see the doctor one time because of his incredibly unhelpful staff. I hate to review a doctor on such a thing, but a doctor chooses his staff. The staff person sitting at the front check-in desk seemed to be actively trying to keep me from being seen by the doctor.

I won't even try to schedule another appointment. This experience with his staff is enough to tell me I would dread getting seen by him in the future anyway.

And as an aside, this is one of the many reasons why I am so frustrated and often upset by our healthcare system. It's broken. People should not have to jump through numerous hoops and deal with poorly managed systems just to see a doctor.

Dr Fawad seems fine so far, he's a new doctor of mine. However his staff is horrible! (Bridgette) tells you to hold and then hangs up on you. You call back she has she hold for another 5 minutes... just to tell you to "call back!". I've called back three times now just to get a referral ... she can't leave a message, or post a sticky note!... Nope .she's getting paid and she just tells you to call back! Good grief!
So if you have an emergency and need a referral... It might take a few weeks just to make contact with the right person. If they aren't there they say "Call Back!" - what kind of business does this Especially in the medical field where gettign a referral in time and seeing the appropriate doctor could be life and death!

Dr. Zafar-Khan is one of the sweetes, well mannered, intelligent doctors I have ever encountered, and I have encountered many doctors. I am so impressed with his care for my mother over the past two months. I would highly recommend him to anyone! Wonderful physician.
