Well after 2nd 3rd opinion and MRI, PET SCAN I actually have Metastatic bone cancer to several areas of my body.

Verified hip tendinitis vs osteoarthritis. Examination seemed complete. Showed xray etc. But didn't get to ask questions. It seemed just another typical diagnosis to her. She looked bored.

She didn’t listen to a single thing I said, berated me for taking the dosage of a medication that I had been prescribed by another doctor and basically told me my pain wasn’t that bad, she was older than me and didn’t hurt like that. Refused to run any tests and told me an mri or CT was pointless after a 5 min exam and I’d just have to deal with pain cuz that’s what happens when you turn forty.

I am 27. I have been experiencing lower back pain for most of my life, and two years ago experienced an episode so bad that I was out of work for 6 months. I recovered, but my day to day pain was extreme and poorly controlled.

In February of this year, I saw Dr. Fullerton hoping to understand what was happening to my back. Dr. Fullerton in turn treated me like I was a complete waste of time. I was ignored, talked over, and worse: I was told, to my face, that my pain could not be as bad as it was, because if I truly had something wrong with me I would be 'unable to talk or stand'. She then turned around and told me I was too young to be in the much pain. That it wasn't possible. She told me that I wasn't experiencing sciatica, that I didn't have a herniated disc, and that there was nothing wrong with me. All of this in under 20 minutes with zero imaging.

Well. I got that imaging. I have TWO herniated discs. BOTH of my sciatic nerves are being pinched; I DO have sciatica. I also have a retrolisthesis, central canal stenosis, right recess stenosis, and that isn't even all of it.

On top of that, I am now being reevaluated because my condition has advanced since that imaging was done. My left leg is beginning to go numb and I am experiencing weakness in both legs that is making it hard to walk or even stand for extended periods of time.

If I had listened to Dr. Fullerton I would have had zero chance at any sort of pain management. I would never have had any imaging done. I might have waited a few more years to get seen, and if I had... where would I be? How many discs would I have lost? How much pain would I have been in? Would I still be able to do the things I enjoy? Would I still even be able to walk?

This is the sort of doctor that will end up seeing a patient worse than me, that will treat them the exact same way, and end up getting them permanently paralyzed or killed.

Take my advice: don't be that patient.

See someone else.
