An EXTREMELY long wait in an almost empty ER. Lack of quality care, lack of staff. Could’ve honestly drove an hour away and been seen sooner. Arrived at 2 wasn’t taken back til nearly 6 and still just to wait some more. Have yet to receive any care after hours. Seen another lady get up and leave after she waited for 3 hours in the ER.

To add on top of that, it’s now almost 10pm. And they won’t admit because the “MD is hesitant” and apparently not competent enough to treat the condition of the patient. I understand you can’t treat everything anywhere but some transparency up front could’ve saved some time. The doctor and nurse practitioner in hematology were very kind and professional

I was not happy with the Dr. assigned to me on my last visit. The Dr. didn’t seem to know what he was doing and was smirking when he was asking the same questions over and over. Almost like he was trying to catch me in a lie. Talking down to me. Them writing on the portal that I did not appear ill. The bottom line is he just did not care. Irmc used to be a decent hospital. What happened?

Brought my wife to the er 2 days ago via ambulance from passing out. The er Dr or pa whatever he was automatically start making commits as if she's an addict because her legs wouldn't stop shaking which I have on video. Dr schedule all these tests but haven't fed her in 2 DAYS . Which I have on video as well. Her MRI was scheduled today but noone comes to get her which means they trying to make her go 3 days without eating. It's 6 pm now if she go another day without eating I will have the news up here. The way these Drs treat these patients are in humane. Her MRI better be handled today if not there will be a lawsuit for negligence. It's illegal to starve a patient two days straight. It won't be a 3rd day period you can go tell patient portal that. And to you family members with patients here speak up and do something if not nothing will ever change here with the 2;5 review rating totally unacceptable

Absolute Joke. I avoid IRMC as much as humanly possible. I'm currently being treated by an out-of-state doctor, who wanted me to get bloodwork done. I went in to the lab early yesterday. Orders clearly say "STAT RESULTS NEEDED" in large lettering across the top of the order, and stating that they needed them same day. My doctor's office called me this morning to ask if I had gotten the bloodwork done because they STILL haven't gotten the results from IRMC. Apparently, IRMC doesn't understand what "STAT" means. I called the lab and left a message asking when the results would be sent to my doctor but it's been hours and they still haven't called me back. Their website states "Outstanding Patient Care" and "At IRMC, you'll be treated like one of the family." If this is what they call "outstanding" I'd hate to see what they consider average and how they treat their families. They don't care about their patients' health, just their bottom line.

I am unable to see at night and asked if it was a long wait time. They refused to give me any sort of idea. They also admitted that they will take people before me. I have a pinched nerve and I'm in severe pain but they didn't feel I was important enough to get help.

Update: I was seen in a timely manner. They did not take anyone before me.

This hospital is exceptional, and I am surprised it has only a 2-star rating. The nursing staff is outstanding, consistently going above and beyond to assist my father and our family with all our needs. They are providing excellent care for my father and ensuring he receives the necessary treatment. Everyone I have interacted with here has been extremely kind and helpful. I highly recommend this hospital.

i took my son to the ER today for vomiting blood. he is nine months old and we do not breast feed. We waited FIVE HOURS. two before they even actually admitted us to a room. For a man to come in listen to his chest ignore me when i talked about what else was going on, and then tell me that he’s just going to prescribe Pepsid for his nausea. Absolutely ridiculous. doctors will just say whatever to get you in and out and prescribe you whatever medication they can just to make you leave faster. i’ve been to the ER with my soon almost 5 times in the past month. thinking about taking him to pittsburgh to actually find out what’s wrong with him. there’s been so much little stuff and now this.
The bed sheets in the bed i was provided in my room, had obviously not been changed since the last person had used them. there were hairs and little fluff particles from clothes all over the sheets before i had even laid down on them. the sheets smelt like body oder, and sweat.
nurses station ignored my buzzer for half an hour.
when i left i saw a elderly man, yelling in his room with all the buzzer going off, and the nurses just walked past his room.
IRMC is arguably one of the worst hospitals in PA and i wouldn’t go here, even if it meant my life was at risk. 0 out of 10 if i could give zero stars i would.

I had an accident this morning in the outpatient lab after getting some blood taken, i passed out in the waiting room of the lab afterwards and that’s the first time i’ve ever passed out after giving blood so i was unsure of what to do and was trying not to panic. as soon as it happened, the one nurse came running out because she heard me hit the chairs, and as soon as she saw me laying there everyone was aware of what happened and so many doctors and nurses and aides came to assist me. i understand this is their job but everyone was so helpful, and kind about the situation, because you know in todays world not everyone is nice. i was so embarrased to have this happen in front of other patients and such, but everyone who assisted me afterwards was so caring and everyone always made sure i was okay. i really appreciate all the help from everyone present!!
