Our Nurse Practitioner referred my husband and me to Dr. Seyed Mohammad Abedi, because some parameters in our blood tests were outside the normal range. However, I don’t understand why we were referred to an oncologist for a simple blood test review. When we visited the clinic, we were surprised to find that Dr. Abedi was not available in person and conducted the consultation via video call.
He spoke with my husband for about 20 minutes, during which he overexplained every abnormal parameter and repeatedly linked them to cancer. He suggested additional blood tests, a colonoscopy, and other procedures. When it was my turn, he did the same—overanalyzing my results and associating my slightly low hemoglobin level of 11 with cancer. He recommended more blood tests and a colonoscopy as well.
At that point, I had enough and explained that conclusions should not be drawn from a single report, and scaring patients by suggesting everything could lead to cancer is unacceptable. We are diligent about our annual checkups, and our blood reports have been consistent for the past decade. We declined further tests and investigations and proceeded to the reception to settle the bill.
The reception staff informed us that the charges would be covered by our health insurance. However, we later received a bill for $565 for my husband’s consultation. Our insurance covered $360.77, leaving us with a $204.23 out-of-pocket expense.
This experience raises serious concerns about the clinic’s practices—using fear tactics to push unnecessary tests and charging $565 for a 20-minute consultation is simply unacceptable.

Very knowledgeable. Very direct.
4 stars because he is very different from Dr. Bala who was super caring and enthusiastic where Dr. Abedi is more direct to his approach and for me that will take some getting used to. Granted this was my very First appointment with Dr. Abedi. Again he is knowledgeable and I will trust him with my care.
