Heard about this hospital for many years here but changed to UCI now.
Easy to make an appointment with the guy who answer on the phone call. I do not know the reason why some women who picked up phone on the OBI tour hotline, they couldnt listen what I said though I tried to repeat it many times. And one time with the guy it works and receives an email through email immediately😳
✅Love the Korean woman who welcome me on that day, Mrs. Thuy in the tour and everybody at reception outside or inside look friendly
❗️Restroom in the room look old but I will have much experience in December, so I can give a feedback in detail at that time

Man, I know hospitals tend to have negative reviews because its a negatively charged place, but the reviewers are right. Staff gives attitude despite families saying they understand they have other patients. Our main care nurse completely dismissed my grandma when she said the bed moves was freely rolling even after we the nurse three times! When my grandmas blood pressure shot startling above 180 she just called us crazy and sassed us out. Also very filthy and run down, takes forever to get a bed. Not asking for much, I know health care is hard but listen to your patients!

I am appalled by the care and treatment I received at this hospital. Never in my life have I felt so neglected and disrespected by people who are supposed to provide help in times of need.

I was brought in after passing out at a concert due to severe dehydration, heart palpitations, and symptoms of a severe panic attack. I arrived with blood on my hands, vomit on my clothes, and was fading in and out of consciousness. Despite my condition, the staff treated me with shocking rudeness and disregard. One doctor even raised his voice at me for not being able to answer a question properly due to my state.

Not only was I medically neglected, but I also experienced blatant discrimination. The staff seemed to automatically assume I was a hard drug user simply because of my alternative appearance, and their behavior was homophobic, discriminatory, and full of prejudice rather than focusing on the actual reason I was there. I felt judged for how I looked rather than cared for as a patient in need. Based on other reviews, this hospital has other history of various forms of discrimination such as racism.

The hospital only performed an EKG, blood draw, and chest X-ray before sending me home without offering IV fluids, water, or even assistance in cleaning myself up. I left the hospital with blood still on my hands.

The front desk staff was equally disrespectful. When I inquired about my ID, the receptionist asked why I was even there and, after learning I had come from a concert, responded with, “Ugh, you're one of those concert people.” This level of discrimination and prejudice is completely unacceptable.

And the cherry on top, they never returned my ID. I went back the next morning, and they told me they were unable to find it, even though I’m certain I never got it back.

The only positive aspect of my experience was the security staff at the ER entrance. They were kind and helpful, unlike the medical and administrative personnel.

I came to this hospital expecting care and compassion in a moment of vulnerability. Instead, I was treated with cruelty, neglect, and open prejudice simply because of how I looked. All I wanted and needed in that moment was to know I was okay and taken care of. I did not feel that way nor receive the care in order to feel that way.

If you’re coming from the Observatory, don’t.

From the looks of it, this hospital has not changed. After reading the past reviews it seems that everyone is experiencing the same outcome coming here. Negligence, no bedside manner, nurses not doing their job, no explanation/update on what is going on with their patients. It’s incredible that this hospital is still up and running. Hopefully UCI can clean this swamp of staff that is working there.

The staff working on the 2nd floor of the East Tower (End of life Unit) are very special.
Mariel and Kim made the last stage of life for my brother as comfortable as possible. All the staff on that floor are incredibly sensitive and kind.
Thank you .
A coffee maker for the family would be nice...;)

I was admitted for. a cough from chemo and Chemo pain and The assigned doctor to me at 11 o’clock at night He never put in my orders and he had no on-call doctor and he didn’t answer his service which says they do every call back every 30 minutes And I sat in pain for eight hours Still no orders put it and I stayed up all night crying in pain and the nurse said there’s nobody they can call and nothing that can do. Wasting my insurance money with no help

DO NOT BOTHER COMING HERE. Every time I've taken my parents here for emergencies, the care has been neglectful and inadequate. The staff rarely listens to concerns and often fails to follow up. There were no basic essentials offered! Having to ask for a blanket while staffs wrapped themselves in blankets was both very embarrassing and inhumane of them. I ended up giving my own socks to my mom because it was extremely cold and the AC was running the whole entire time of the visit. It's frustrating to feel ignored and undervalued as a patient and family member. If you care about receiving proper care and attention, I strongly advise looking elsewhere. This hospital has serious issues with patient interaction and responsiveness. They suck!

I feel so bad for my husband. He has an HMO so got transferred here at 4am. It was his 3rd hospital transfer in 24 hours. He hadn’t eaten but a sandwich from a previous hospital the day prior. Next morning. They didn’t give him breakfast. He had ordered it but nothing came. I called from home to ask them to please feed him. They said he will have to wait for lunch. He is in there for a TIA (a mini stroke). They said he needs to stay another night to get cardiac tests and see the cardiologist. But no doctor has come. He isn’t hooked up to an IV, no heart monitor or even a blood pressure monitor. He could drop dead and no one would notice. When he was transferred his blood pressure was 167/120. He regularly takes 2 blood pressure control meds along with psych meds and he was refused any of his medications at this hospital. He is bipolar! You cannot miss medications. I went and got a nurse and explained this. They didn’t seem to care. He also needs a c-pap to sleep (he stops breathing in his sleep and entire extremely loudly which would I disturb other patients). We wanted to check him out since he hadn’t seen a doctor all day and he had is ekg. We asked if we could check him out because he is having anxiety from missing his medications and so I drove out to Fountain Valley to bring them to him but they wouldn’t let me give them to him. The bathrooms were very dirty, the little wooden nightstand was broken. It was so sad. I felt so bad leaving him there. I brought him some snacks. He was also out of water. It broke my heart leaving him there but they said he can’t leave or it would be leaving against doctors orders. The poor man in the room with him also had been there since Monday (it’s Wednesday) and had been waiting to see a cardiologist ever since. He also wasn’t fed a breakfast so his daughter had to bring him a meal. It’s so so sad to see that this is health care in the United States. I have Medicare THANK GOODNESS and don’t have to go to these types of low grade hospitals. My poor husband.
